My new pinch roller coating fell off the core after about one hour of playing time. I removed the foam roll including the plastic lever that shoud be cleaning the heads slightly in stop mode. I removed the hardened rubber from the brass an aplied 2 layers of simple shrinking tube as precisely as possible (for me). On a forum somebody said, shrinking tube (Schrumpfschlauch in German) would work as `rubber`. On the internet I found several offers for newly made pinch rollers or repair.Īs I didn´t plan to invest much money for this interesting, but, not really useful machine, I decided to go the DIY way. ![]() I found the pinch roller had turned to (almost) stone. It worked fine as a D-A converter, but, I had no cassettes.Įventually found DDS2 Cassettes that can be used, but, some say better not, as the tape is thin/raw, whatever.
